    Job Description Description:
    ENGS Engineer Level III - Engineering is under the general direction of the Engineering Manager.

    They will design, maintain, improve and develop all manufacturing processes for the manufacture and/or completion of product within the facility.

    Including all product and equipment designed drawings, tooling, gauges, and any other supporting documentation.
    Essential Functions
    Engineer essential duties include, but are in no way limited to:

    • Be proficient in the current CAD system and computer software.
    • Be trained in and use PFMEA.
    • Design, or assist in design, development and/or fabrication of product, tool, and equipment, handling equipment and processes and procedures.
    • Create and maintain drawings, processes and routers.
    • Oversee the engineering aspects of new product, tool, and equipment qualification and start-up in production.
    • Design high pressure gas cylinders that comply with DOT-3AL, TC-3ALM, ISO-7866, or any governing agencies' requirements.
    • Design all tooling necessary to manufacture and test high pressure gas cylinders.
    • Diagnose product, tool, and equipment and process problems and implement solutions.
    • Monitor production of new and existing product and equipment.
    • Review all data that will help with improving the product or process (ex: 1st and last articles, tooling, floor sheets).
    • Modify existing equipment, tooling or processes to increase safety and equipment performance.
    • Incorporate handling systems that support the efficiency of the equipment.
    • Oversee the build of equipment whether contracted or built in house.
    • Be an available resource to help Production and Maintenance when equipment needs aligning or calibrating.
    • Assist operators to maintain and improve the process and procedures in the areas of responsibilities.
    • Review process, procedures, efficiencies and equipment for implementation of continuous improvement.
    • Be knowledgeable in materials and processes for the manufacturing of tooling, i.e. tool steel, heat treating, and metal treatments.
    • Collaborates with external and internal customers, including Manufacturing and Quality Assurance staff, to resolve issues and meet customer specifications.
    The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.
    Marginal Functions
    The engineer will also be proficient in the following tasks:

    • Perform any other duties not mentioned above when instructed to do so by the Engineer Manager.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

    Requirements:

    Environmental Conditions ·Work environment is primarily indoors in an industrial manufacturing plant.

    Most of the time will be spent in an office environment but significant time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.· Temperatures in production facility can exceed 90°ree;F.· Will encounter dust, grease, fumes, and noise from equipment.

    Physical Demands · Capable of frequently lifting up to 25 lbs.· Capable of repetitive reaching, twisting, bending, and/or other awkward movements· Able to work at heights above ground level· Must have good hand / eye coordination and good eyesight

    Sensory/Cognitive Demands

    • Have the skill set to solve complicated and intricate problems.
    • Must have the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
    • Have the ability to coordinate activities to achieve lean principle goals.


    Education/Work Experience · Bachelor's degree with focus on mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering OR some college in the same disciplines and 5 years direct manufacturing engineer work experience.· College credits in metallurgical courses preferred.· Proficient in CAD with Inventor software.· PLC programming familiarity.· Experience with PFMEA.· Minimum 5 years of directly related engineering experience.· Must be strong in machine design and automation.· Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement.· Compressed gas cylinder experience extremely desirable, but not required.· Knowledgeable and able to participate in continuous process improvement activities.· Must be a team player and have excellent communication skills.
