    Summary



    The Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Planning & Performance Management, Office of Enterprise Integration (OEI), is the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS) for OEI, and other key officials within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on matters pertaining to strategy development; strategic planning; integrated enterprise planning; risk management, and performance management.

    Duties


    The DAS for Planning and Performance Management is responsible for leading and directing the Strategy and Risk Management office, the Performance Management office, and the VA-DoD Collaboration office.

    Leads and coordinates the Department's strategic planning process in partnership with the administrations and staff offices.

    Responsible for ensuring VA is in compliance with the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) to support accomplishment of the Department's mission, fulfillment of the Secretary's vision, and achievement of the major goals and objectives established in the VA Strategic Plan.

    Provides high-level coordination and technical expertise to ensure effective management of the strategic planning process to ensure effective implementation of Department's strategies.


    Responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the Department's operational and strategic risk.

    Develops Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to an enterprise risk management framework.

    Ensures the organization's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and strategic imperatives of the organization.

    Establishes the Enterprise Risk Management architecture for the Department. Monitors and analyzes risks within the Department and reports on these risks to VA senior leaders.
