    Description

    Service (site) reliability engineering is a software engineering approach to IT operations. Our client is dedicated to developing software solutions that tackle challenges; their SRE team will use software to manage systems efficiently, troubleshoot issues, and automate tasks. Lynx's service (site) reliability engineers (SREs) are crucial to ensuring users have access to a feature-rich platform with high availability and exceptional performance levels to accomplish their goals.

    Our client is in need of two experienced SREs who can extract insights from large-scale data in real-time. They are looking for individuals with innovative ideas, a fresh perspective, and who enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to create practical solutions and enhance user experiences.

    Objectives of this role

    • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
    • Develop software and systems for managing platform infrastructure and applications
    • Enhance the reliability and quality of our software suite
    • Optimize system performance to meet customer needs and drive innovation
    • Provide operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale distributed applications

    Requirements

    • Collect and analyze metrics from operating systems and applications for performance tuning and issue resolution
    • Collaborate with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release processes
    • Contribute to system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
    • Implement sustainable systems and automate services for efficiency
    • Balance feature development speed with service-level objectives

    Required skills and qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
    • Proficiency in programming using high-level languages like Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, or JavaScript
    • Experience with distributed storage technologies and resource management frameworks
    • Proactive in identifying problems and areas for enhancement

    Preferred skills and qualifications

    • Prior technical engineering achievements
    • Proficiency in coding beyond basic scripts
