    Staff Accountant

    Irvine, CA / On-site

    Temp-hire or Direct Hire for right fit

    $70-88k annually

    Overview:

    Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and expertise in preparing and maintaining ledger accounts, income and balance sheet statements. The candidate may also perform a variety of analysis or projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Support the month end general ledger close and prepare journal entries.
    • Perform account reconciliations.
    • Assist in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other internal and external financial reporting.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
    • Support income tax research/ special projects, filings and accounting treatments.
    • Develop financial system improvements/ upgrades/ controls.
    • Evaluate process deficiencies, formulate corrective action plans, and develop process improvements and/or procedural controls.
    • Identify areas of concern/ opportunity and recommend corrective actions.
    • Assist in planning, execution, separation, integration and organizational restructuring activities for post-merger initiatives.
    • Other general accounting responsibilities and special projects as required.
    • Support financial reviews and audits conducted by independent auditors.

    Desired Qualifications and Experience:

    • Knowledge of general and cost accounting principles and practices.
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college/university.
    • SAP FI/CO experience PREFERRED.
    • SALES USE TAX EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
    • Experience of organizing multiple sales and use tax returns and reconcile monthly sales and use tax.
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
    • Ability to effect change through others by building strong working relationships.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
