Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team in Laramie.
In this role, you will be responsible for administering ionizing radiation to patients exactly as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist.
You will play a dual role as a technical expert and a supportive presence for patients navigating their cancer journey.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrecision Treatment:
Administer the prescribed course of radiation therapy, ensuring exact positioning and dosage.
Clinical Calculations:
Determine procedure details including length/intensity of exposure, beam settings, and recording equipment parameters.
Patient Assessment:
Evaluate the daily physiological and psychological responsiveness of patients to monitor for side effects or distress.
Administration:
Assist in the billing and coding process for radiation therapy and maintain detailed treatment records.
Education:
Participate in patient and community education regarding radiation safety and therapy expectations.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Education:
Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy AND Radiation Technology required.
Experience:
Previous experience as a Radiation Therapist is strictly required.
Credentials & Skills
License:
Must hold a current, valid Wyoming License as a Radiation Technologist in good standing.
Registration:
Current ARRT registration in good standing.
Life Support:
Current BLS certification (or must obtain within 60 days of hire).
Specialized Knowledge:
Proficiency in anatomy, radiation biology, oncologic pathology, and dosimetry.
