    Position: Quality Manager

    Location: Wadesboro, North Carolina

    Position Overview: The Quality Manager is responsible to plan, coordinate, and direct the Quality Assurance and Product Service programs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
    • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with the Manager of Manufacturing to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
    • Collaborates with Materials/Purchasing to assure acceptable supplier quality and delivery.
    • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
    • Works with Product Service, Staff Managers and Sales/Marketing to assess customer satisfaction and address/resolve issues.
    • Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
    • Representative for ISO 9001:2015 (ANSI/ASQC Q9001-)
    • Manages Service Department, Quality Engineers and Technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Familiarity with production processes, standard mechanical, metallurgical and electrical test methods, SPC, ISO-9001-:2015 requirements. Good people management and motivational skills. Must possess good professional project management and time management skills.
    • American Society for Quality Certification is a plus.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or, four years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Four + years of management experience required, preferably in an inspection/quality environment.
    • Two + years of demonstrable Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma experience.
    • Experience in progressive TQM tools and systems including, but not limited to, Control Plans, Supplier Reliability, Quality Containment, Root Cause Analysis, and Design of Experiments.
