    Faculty Job Description:

    Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine seeks an oral surgeon as full-time or part-time, clinical faculty for our new dental school in Joplin, Missouri.

    The faculty member will be responsible for the development of the oral surgery, pre-clinical and clinical protocols and procedures, integrating evidence-based best practices with clinical patient care as well as guiding current research and scholarly activity in oral surgery.

    The oral surgery faculty member will collaborate with, and educate the dental Group Practice Leaders, Assistant Group Practice Leaders, simulation faculty, and clinical faculty in the current science of oral surgery for patient care.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    Candidates must demonstrate a passion for dentistry and the application of oral surgery therapy didactic principles to preclinical and clinical patient care, a strong desire to teach students in a demanding, fast-paced, academic environmentDevelop goals, objectives and policies for the dental education program within the KCU College of Dental MedicineImplement and deliver the oral surgery didactic curriculum including pre-clinical materials, simulation and laboratory exercisesIntegrate evidence-based best practices with clinical patient care and guide current research and scholarly activity in oral surgeryAssure the safe and effective delivery of dental care by the dental studentsDeliver clinical treatment for patients as needed in the Oral Health CenterServe as an advisor, coach and/or mentor to dental students expressing a desire for advanced education in oral surgeryMentor dental student research in the area of oral surgery when applicableServe as faculty advisor for community-based activities in the realm of oral surgeryConduct summative and formative pre-clinical and clinical student assessment in oral surgeryPerform other duties as assigned by supervising faculty or DeanQualifications:D.D.S./D.M.D.
