    Description

    About Us

We're Rain City Capital–a rapidly growing private money lender headquartered in Kirkland, WA. We put our borrowers first, which is how we've built our business almost exclusively on word-of-mouth referrals. No two workdays are the same, so our team is made up of individuals who aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and make it happen. Our staff is energetic, fun, and committed to leading the industry by putting the relationship before the transaction. We're looking for an experienced operations leader to join our team and help lead Rain City into a period of operational growth.

    About You

You're a highly competent leader in a banking or mortgage environment with extensive mortgage operations management and leadership experience. You have a proven track record of effective strategic, risk management, planning, problem-solving, and management skills, and take pride in your work without taking yourself too seriously. You value authenticity, accountability, and action in your personal and professional relationships and are driven every day by your enthusiasm for our industry, our company, our team, and our shareholders. As a leader, you are focused on people—you create an environment of mutual respect and inspiration by listening to others and leading by example. When it's time to get things done, you expertly bring teams together, set expectations, and support projects from big-picture concepts to small-detail fulfillment. With a strong analytical mind, you feel just as savvy jumping in to fix things in the moment as you do helping create a plan for the future. You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are excited about being a part of a culture that's more focused on breaking the mold than preserving the hierarchy.

    Performance Expectations:

Rain City Capital offers a hybrid work environment, which means employees perform their duties remotely or in person and will be expected to check email, phone, and text messages throughout the day and respond in a timely fashion consistent with a normal company workday. Rain City's expectations for hybrid work performance boils down to our mission statement: Real and Lasting Mutual Success.

    Real and Lasting Mutual Success

    • "Real" means we tell it like it is. We know our borrowers need honesty and straight answers to accomplish their goals with the most significant impact and longevity.
    • "Lasting" success means we make decisions for the long term. We make sure the relationships we build are nurtured, not undermined for short-term gains.
    • "Mutual Success" means we'll never fund a deal we don't believe in—because it's our money going out, we treat our borrowers' investments as our own. Our success is contingent upon the success of our borrowers, period.

We live our mission statement to ensure that our borrowers are successful, but Real and Lasting Mutual Success is just as important internally in the way we work with one another:

    • Remote work works best in an environment of mutual trust. We believe in you, value you, and trust that you're able to do your job well, whether you're in the office or at home. Our expectation is that you extend that trust to each other to follow expectations and treat each other like real humans—not just squares on your screen.
    • We've built systems and schedules that give us the flexibility we need at work as well as the consistency we needed to run our business for the long-term. Our basic expectation is that we're all available to check email, phone, and/or text messages and respond in a timely fashion consistent with a normal workday, but the particulars may vary by department. Managers will communicate department expectations about availability, communication, and exceptions, but the goal is consistency.
    • We respect the work environment that each of us needs in order to be successful in our roles; we're conscious of where, when, and how we work as individuals and as a team.
    • Where: At Rain City, your physical setting should be conducive to collaboration. Consider factors like background noise, equipment and internet quality, even lighting. Be considerate, check in with each other, and do your best to reduce external distractions in your work setting.
    • When: As previously stated, our expectation is that we're all working and available for a normal 8-hour workday, no matter where we are. But respecting our work environment for mutual success also means being mindful of any time zone differences, planned time off, and normal working hours that affect people's availability.
    • How: How we work is best expressed by our EOS framework, which guides our planning, communication, prioritization, management, problem-solving, leadership, and more. In short, the expectation is that each of us understands and participates in the EOS process and aims to embody Rain City's core values and understands that we do Have Fun, but respect still comes first.
