    What we do:
    The Sr. Safety Engineer plays a key role in the development of eVTOL urban air mobility product & services solutions.

    This position requires an experienced professional with expertise in definition and application of processes and procedures in alignment with SAE ARP4754A and SAE 4761A, safety requirements definition, management & performance measurement within an agile product development environment.

    Safety Engineer works with different engineering disciplines and liaises closely with the Strategy Team to ensure requirements meet our customer & business case needs.

    Supernal provides an inviting open-space workplace designed to foster collaboration, which aligns with one of their core values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.


    What you can do:
    Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Engineering team and cross-disciplinary research & development teams working on the development & certification of autonomous, passenger carrying eVTOL aircraftManage execution of work by teams and team members through monitoring progress, providing technical direction, and problem-solving solutionsSupport new business initiatives through trade studies, concept development, proposal responses, and customer presentationsManage the advancement of the product development process by providing technical support, developing tools and methods, conducting analysis and facilitating learning and continuity across teamsApplies safety engineering principles to support investigation, analysis, planning, design, development, testing, evaluation, and implementation of eVTOL systemsReviews and prepares safety engineering and technical analysis reports, and other technical documentationApplies safety engineering principles to facilitate functions such as system integration, configuration management, and testingMentor engineers in all aspects of Safety System Engineering industry best practices, as well as Company core values, to promote development of world-class Safety Engineering talentPartner with PMO organization to execute build planRequires up to 10% of domestic and international travelOther duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, statistics, or aerospace/electrical/mechanical engineering from an accredited university required; Master's or PhD degree preferredMinimum five (5) years of experience in systems aerospace safety and reliability domains and certification including: three (3) years of experience with at least one (1) of the following 14 CFR

    Airworthiness Standards:
    Part 23, 25, 27, 29, 33, 34 or 35 and two (2) years of experience in risk/hazard analysis in aerospace industry (an equivalent combination of education experience may be considered)

    Experience working with regulatory agenciesDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of ARP4761A methods, such as FTA, (P)SSA, FMEA/FEMES, Common Cause AnalysisExcellent understanding of ARP4754A and the associated analysis methodsUnderstanding and experience using fault tree / failure analysis software and analysis tools for safety systemsSense of urgency, proactive delivery of communication and follow upExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraintsExcellent abstraction and communication skillsCritical thinker, adept at relationship building and leading through influenceYou may also be able to contribute:
