    Sun River Health is looking to hire an accomplished full-time Physician Assistant to join our team at 57 Bay Street, Staten Island, , NY.

    The Physician Assistant is responsible for planning, evaluating, and delivering healthcare to adult and pediatric primary care patients in a busy Federally Qualified Health Center.

    Care is delivered in collaboration with on-site support staff, with an emphasis on preventative health and patient education.

    The current clinical team provides specialty care integrated within the practice. The Physician Assistant will have the option to continue this care with training provided.

    Current specialty care includes medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder, Hepatitis C treatment, HIV pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis, and gender affirming care.


    Essential duties and responsibilities for a Physician Assistant:

    • Take histories, perform physical examinations, give immunizations (in rare case on site nurse is unavailable), patient education and counseling.
    • Order appropriate lab work and diagnostics; provide timely follow up on abnormal results.
    • Diagnose and provide treatment for chronic conditions and minor illnesses.
    • Identify and categorize patient age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients.
    • Attend patient case conférences as applicable.
    • Attend continuing education programs to increase skills and knowledge.
    • Attend provider meetings and participate in quality improvement programs and team assignments.
    • Follow OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization, and overseen by Infection Control Officer.
    • Provide safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
    • Collaborate with other members of the Health Center in order to maintain high quality standards and achieve client satisfaction.

    Minimum Education Requirement:

    • Master's Degree (PA)

    Minimum Work Related Experience:
    * - 2 years in outpatient setting preferred.


    Licensure/Certification/Registration:

    • Active/Valid license, registration and certification as a Physician Assistant in New York State

    Full-time salary range: $130,000-$135,000
