ABOUT OASIS FOR GIRLS: The mission of Oasis For Girls ) is to partner with BIPOC girls and young women in high school from under-resourced communities to help them cultivate the skills, knowledge, and confidence to discover their dreams and build strong futures.
POSITION SUMMARY: Oasis For Girls is in search of a highly qualified Interim Program Director to provide leadership for a temporary assignment of around 4-5 months. The Interim Program Director will oversee program staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating the agency's core programs in Life Skills Education, Arts and Activism, and Career Exploration.
The Interim Program Director position is temporary and part-time, with a work schedule of approximately 20-25 hours per week. Hours will need to include Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 12:30-6:00pm in the Oasis office June-August. Flexibility is required to accommodate summer programming hours and events.
Compensation: Hourly compensation is $32-34/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
● Leverage the Oasis Way materials to oversee planning and implementation of agency's core programs: RISE Life Skills Education Program, CREATE Arts & Activism Program, and ENVISION Career Exploration Program, through planning and facilitating all program staff meetings and supervision meetings, synchronizing program calendars and cross-program activities, and ensuring the ongoing professional development of staff
● Manage and oversee the evaluation of the agency's core programs by implementing online surveys, synthesizing and analyzing evaluation data for internal and external use, and coordinating cross-program event evaluations
● Oversee program outreach to educational institutions and the greater community regarding Oasis programs through developing relationships, scheduling outreach events, and following up with schools regarding registered participants. Supervise involvement of the RISE, CREATE, and ENVISION program leaders in outreach
● Oversee the program application process, including interviewing, selection, and notification of participants. Supervise involvement of the RISE, CREATE, and ENVISION program leaders in interviewing, selection, and notification of participants
● Plan and implement Cross Program Events, including Orientation, Open House, Career Event, Wellness Event, and Graduation in collaboration with the RISE, CREATE, and ENVISION program leaders
● Provide technical advice, problem-solving assistance, and strategic analysis related to programmatic goals to the programs team
● Assist with the development of long- and short-range goals in line with the strategic plan, such as staff planning, budget planning, and program planning
SUPERVISION AND TEAM MANAGEMENT
● Supervise, train, and evaluate the RISE, CREATE, and ENVISION program leaders in consultation with the Executive Director
● Support and coach program leaders through weekly 1:1 support meetings and weekly team meetings
● Provide ongoing assessment of needs & resources to support professional development for RISE, CREATE, and ENVISION program leaders in consultation with the Executive Director
COMPLIANCE AND RISK/CRISIS MANAGEMENT:
● Ensure programs meet all requirements set by Department of Children Youth & their Families (DCYF) for after-school programs
● Ensure programs and services comply with contracts and funding requirements
● Implement safety protocols for onsite programs and for when programs are off-site (field trips, external events, etc) ● Assist program leaders with any issues or concerns presented by program participants, including mental health, familial, and educational. Refer girls to services outside of Oasis as needed
● Ensure the safety of all participants and staff during any and all crises, including child abuse, suicide prevention, family crises, and foster care youth
FINANCIAL:
● Collaborate with the Executive Director to analyze financial data to predict program and service resource needs
MARKETING & OUTREACH:
● Partner with the Executive Director & ACTIVATE social media team to provide programmatic content for social media, marketing materials and grant proposals/reports, including the preparation and synthesis of program statistics ● Partner with the Executive Director to plan funder site visits and donor engagement events, including oversight of Oasis alumni engagement
● Manage requests for information and materials
● Represent the organization at meetings and events and collaborate with community groups to strengthen and expand Oasis' programs
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Attend and support the facilitation of monthly all-staff meetings
● Conduct clerical tasks as needed
● Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
● At least 3-5 years experience in youth development programming, including outreach and recruitment, program development and planning, curriculum development, and program coordination
● Undergraduate degree, including social sciences, ethnic studies, women's studies, or community studies preferred; Master's Degree preferred. Equivalent life and work experience may be substituted for a degree
● At least 3 years experience developing and supervising staff
● Experience administering evaluations, as well as synthesizing and interpreting impact data
● Experience with nonprofit budget management, operations, and organizational/staffing structures
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
● Familiarity with issues facing low-income BIPOC girls as well as the youth development framework
● Commitment to social justice
● Ability to develop strong relationships and work closely with diverse stakeholders, including board members, staff, volunteers, students, parents, funders, and community partners
● Strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment, prioritize among competing pressing issues, take initiative, pay attention to details, and meet deadlines effectively
● Willingness to embrace challenges, be flexible, and find creative solutions that fit within established priorities

● Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of products on a Mac-based platform
● Bilingual in Spanish, Tagalog, Cantonese, Vietnamese language desired.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Employee is required to work closely with diverse stakeholders including clients, community partners, funders, and potential donors. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is required to work on a computer and/or by phone for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours a day. Employee will also need to be physically present in the office to support programming staff and during all programming and program events. Employee must be able to stoop, reach, grasp, lift, and carry objects up to 25 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The organization is located in an urban area with high foot traffic. The employee will work in an open office space and will be required to manage work with interruptions from phone, visitors, and clients. Some local travel required.
