- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and risks, and implement appropriate controls and safety measures.
- Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to EHS, and ensure that the company remains compliant with all applicable laws and standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies as necessary to address compliance issues and resolve any regulatory concerns
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response protocols.
- Ensure that all employees receive adequate training and instruction to perform their jobs safely and effectively.
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of all EHS-related incidents and ensure timely reporting to regulatory agencies as required
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the company's EHS program and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements.
- Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to measure the effectiveness of EHS initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees at all levels.
- A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations and standards, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements effectively.
