Description of Duties:
This position is for a mental health specialist within campus residences under CAPS. The role includes providing workshops, clinical services, and training to residence staff. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Residential Student Responsibilities:
- Lead mental health support groups.
- Provide confidential interventions.
- Assist students in accessing counseling services.
- Train staff in crisis assessment.
- Facilitate referrals to resources.
- Conduct psychoeducation workshops.
- Support students transitioning back to residence halls.
- Offer individual counseling sessions.
Consultation, Outreach, and Training:
- Provide student mental health consultation.
- Conduct training for staff and RAs.
- Serve as a liaison between residence and counseling services.
- Offer outreach programs for hall students.
Internship Programs:
- Supervise graduate-level interns.
- Train undergraduate interns.
- Develop peer-to-peer support programs.
- Organize wellness activities for students.
Professional Development and Committee Involvement:
- Participate in learning opportunities.
- Support events and activities.
- Perform assigned duties.
Special Notes:
This is a full-time FLSA exempt position. The role requires flexibility for evening and weekend work.
