    The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for purchasing, inventory and delivery of assigned materials, supplies and services at the best prices from reliable suppliers to meet the manufacturing, maintenance, and administrative requirements of the organization.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Buy and maintain balanced inventories.
    • Review purchase requisition to assure proper coding, specification accuracy and completeness of information to initiate purchase order.
    • Apply knowledge of manufacturing methods, capabilities and products to enable vendor assistance in substitutions where necessary with assistance from senior purchasing personnel.
    • Convert company terminology and specifications into terms that vendors understand.
    • Obtain quotes for yearly and blanket orders so that the best quality, quantity and price with delivery can be evaluated.
    • Follow up and expedite all past due and critically required items.
    • Obtain price and delivery information and advise requisitioner.
    • Purchase materials.
    • Perform other duties as necessary or appropriate to the position.
