    Associate Area Ministry Director - GFM Metro NYC (Graduate & Faculty Ministry)

    Full timeTo advance the purpose of InterVarsity, an Associate Area Ministry Director has significant shared leadership with the Area Ministry Director within a region and has spiritual leadership and pastoral responsibilities.

    This position is open to both full-time and part-time applicants. The pay range listed is for an employee working 40 hours/week as an Associate Area Director. Pay will be prorated for employees who work less than 40 hours/week.

    The starting pay range for an Associate Area Ministry Director is $49, ,724 depending on experience, fundraising capacity, and hiring manager discretion.

    A Geographic Adjustment may be available for NYC depending on cost of living for the candidate's location.

    Participate and be fully engaged in the area team to set ministry vision and direction, to contribute to the accomplishment of the team's plans for spiritual growth and transformation, and to provide area leadership in specific areas, as delegatedHelp lead the area team in:Growing as a community and depending on God in prayerSetting spiritual vision and direction for the areaDeveloping student training programs and opportunitiesStrategically recruiting, hiring and placing campus ministry staffEngage regularly in ministry to students for their spiritual growth and developmentHelp oversee area conferences, training events, team meetings or projectsEngage positively with the supervision you receive from your staff directorPastoral Supervision (as delegated):Provide for the pastoral care and personal development of ministry staffProvide for the training and professional development of ministry staffOversee the campus work and fund development of ministry staffProvide regular feedback and evaluation of ministry staff including annual performance reviews (reviews to be completed in conjunction with the area director)

    Administration:
    Provide administrative services and financial management that enables ministry staff to do their jobsEnsure adherence to area, regional and national policies, procedures, reporting requirements and financial guidelinesProvide administrative and spiritual leadership to campus and area eventsFund Development and

    Public Relations:

    Serve as an ambassador of InterVarsity to individual ministry partners and churches, through prayer, discussion of ministry efforts, mission, and accomplishmentsMaintain sound financial status of the area through management of budgeting, fund development and expense controlSecure personal financial and prayer support and strategic funds for the area as neededCultivate and maintain relationships with alumni as well as current and potential donorsRepresent InterVarsity within the broader Christian communityQUALIFICATIONSAnnually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).

    Abide by InterVarsity's Code of Conduct. Believe and behave consonantly with InterVarsity's Human Sexuality Theological Paper.

    Affirm and behave consonantly with InterVarsity's "Women in Ministry Statement of Affirmation"Ongoing call to InterVarsity and its missionMinistry skills (including the ability to communicate spiritual vision, teach spiritual and biblical principles, plan ministry programs, and spiritually disciple, coach and mentor)Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum three years Campus Staff ministry or equivalent ministry experience requiredWilling to receive ongoing trainingAble to contribute to an open and supportive relationship with ministry team membersAbility to develop a ministry teamStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse ministry team environmentEffective oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated problem-solving skillsAbility to organize events and manage the details involvedAbility to maintain accurate records and filesAbility to take charge of tasks; work independently without close supervision.


    Pay Range:
    $47, $63,504.00 per yearPay:
    This position is funded through personal fundraising.

    Accordingly, compensation will vary based on the ability of the individual to secure a donor team to fund the cost of his/her salary.

    The anticipated salary range for this position on a full-time basis (40 hours/week) is dependent on a variety of factors, including location and cost of living.

    The actual salary received, including any geographic adjustment to account for location and cost of living, is subject to the individual's ability to raise funds necessary to cover the full amount of such salary within the range set forth in the job posting details.
