    Job Summary:


    The Banquet Captain at The Foundry Hotel Asheville, Curio Collection is a key member of the Hospitality/Restaurant team responsible for coordinating and overseeing all banquet events at the hotel.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to provide exceptional service to our guests.

    This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule and opportunity for growth within the company.


    Compensation & Benefits:
    This is a full-time hourly position with competitive pay.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and manage all aspects of banquet events, including setup, service, and breakdown.
    • Communicate effectively with banquet staff and other hotel departments to ensure a smooth and successful event.
    • Train and supervise banquet staff, ensuring they follow proper procedures and provide excellent service to guests.
    • Set up and arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment according to event specifications.
    • Maintain a clean and organized banquet space, ensuring it meets the hotel's standards of cleanliness.
    • Communicate with clients and event planners to ensure all event details and specifications are met.
    • Troubleshoot and quickly resolve any issues that may arise during events.
    • Assist with ordering and inventory of banquet supplies and equipment.
    • Assist with administrative tasks, such as creating event orders and managing guest counts and room setups.
    • Attend and participate in pre-shift meetings and other staff meetings as required.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in a banquet or event management role.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
    • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and safety procedures.
    • Proven leadership skills and the ability to train and supervise banquet staff.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
