Job DescriptionContinuous Improvement Shop Support Technician
Summary: Serves as a resource to support production floor lean manufacturing activities RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support shop floor leads by removing shop waste such as pallets, cardboard, plastic bags, trash, metal scrap, etc.
2. Assemble, paint, label items that support lean manufacturing initiatives such as shelving, tool cabinets, shadow boards, etc.
3. Work with direction from continuous improvement engineer and shop floor leads on other improvement projects as required.
4. Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on–site.
5. Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
6. Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment.Ability to drive a forklift LANGUAGE SKILLS Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic math skills for measurements. Tape measure. REASONING ABILITY Ability to read basic directions and learn to identify areas for improvement. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals; ultra violet radiation and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is subject to extreme weather conditions of temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and/or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit for periods of more than one hour. The employee should also consider the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind, precipitation, and humidity.
