    Description
    DutiesAssists the Chief Pharmacist in development and updating of Pharmacy policies and procedures.
    Responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Outpatient Pharmacy Services.

    Clinical duties are those which involve risk to patient life, safety, health or well-being and are performed on a regular basis.

    Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
    This is a designated position covered by Public Law , requiring contact or control over Indian children.

    Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.

    COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.
    The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. Shift changes will be required to support pharmacist coverage during the hours of operation. This position may require night, weekend, and holiday coverage.

    A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

    Pharmacy work requires knowledge of the use, clinical effects, and composition of medications, including their chemical, biological, and physical properties.

    Qualifying professional pharmacy experience may involve, but is not limited to:

    Dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and providing information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects;Performing administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for a medical facility's pharmacy program;Planning, monitoring and evaluating medication programs or regimens;Researching medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries; Applicant must have a minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience.

    Demonstrated professional experience in directing a hospital or clinic pharmacy program which includes experience in supervising staff, directing all activities in pharmacy, developing and implementing pharmacy policies and procedures, experience in working with accreditation standards and performance improvement activities.
