    Description
    Physician - Psychiatrist - FT Adult and Pediatric Outpatient

    General Psychiatrist Responsibilities:

    Consult directly on patients referred by Primary Care for behavioral health needs of the individual and coordinating care with counseling and medication management for the individual.

    Documenting and assessing a patient's history, performing tests as indicated, reviewing diagnosis, and devising plan for comprehensive mental health treatment of the individual including patient education and necessary follow ups.

    Collaborating with the primary care team, other medical and non-medical personnel, and a substance abuse team and behavioral health team.

    Ensuring coordination and appropriate referrals for patient care and access across services. Supervising Clinic APP(s) and Social Workers in clinic services as may be determined.

    Participating in case conferences, peer reviews, and department meetings and other MVH system wide initiatives in collaboration with the Medical Director.


    QualificationsGeneral Psychiatry Requirements:

    • A Medical Degree and the successful completion of a residency in psychiatry.
    • Board certified/eligible and state license.
    • Current experience practicing Psychiatry within 2 years; preferably in a community setting
    • The ability to keep updated on the latest medical technologies.
    • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good teamworking, leadership, and organizational skills.
