- Prep food items utilizing knives, slicers, and other kitchen equipment.
- Basic knowledge of hot and cold line stations.
- Prep food according to the production lists utilizing a variety of equipment.
- Wash, peel, slice, and dice fruits, vegetables, and other components as needed.
- Prepare and assemble basic components of dishes, such as sauces, dressings, and garnishes.
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels of food and kitchen supplies.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
- Rotate food in walking coolers and freezers to minimize waste and spoilage.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly stored.
- Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during peak hours
- Assist chefs and cooks in various tasks as needed to facilitate a well-coordinated kitchen workflow.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Set up production items on food trams for transport.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
- Complete safety training and certifications
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of one year experience as a prep cook in a restaurant and / or banquet environment
- Proficient in using knives and other kitchen tools for cutting, chopping, and slicing ingredients accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to read and understand recipes, instructions, and safety information in English.
- Ability to obtain a food safety card.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication abilities to liaise with team members and convey information accurately and efficiently.
- Capacity to thrive in a collaborative team environment, actively contributing to the shared objectives of the kitchen.
