We are a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a global distributor of Electromechanical and Electronic Instruments.We presently have an opening for a Prototype Machinist , to produce one-of-a-kind machined components in support of the R & D department and new product development.
Requires an understanding of CNC programming, G-Code and M-Code, machine tool setup and integration, tooling, macro-programming, fixture, and gage design.
Experience with component machining processes including manual machining and multi-axis CNC machining centers.Experience with CAD (Solid Works, and CAM (Master Cam/Cam Works).
Familiar with machining a variety of substrates to include plastics and exotics.
Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different materials where very close tolerances must be maintained.
Effective at planning, prioritizing, and organizing tasks and activities with the ability to deal with competing demands within specified timelines.
Associates degree or equivalent training will be helpful.Prior experience working with engineering and designers, strong knowledge of setting up and operating CNC equipment and operation of a Proto Trac necessary.
