    Join us in the journeyWe are actively seeking a Manufacturing CNC Engineer to join and grow in the PPG organization.

    The Manufacturing CNC Engineer assists all plant operations related to controlling CNC processes to levels that meet expectations related to quality, cost, control, and consistency.

    This individual will report performance, troubleshoot variability for reduction or elimination, and complete projects with the goal of achieving cost reductions and process improvements.

    Requirements Write, develop, validate, and debug CNC programs and provide supporting documentation for 3-5 axis CNC mills Generate, maintain, and evaluate procedures for production and developmentUtilize adaptive programming techniques to support the manufacturing ease Implement programming best practices to support common systems and platformsImplement, support, and provide continuous improvement of lean and agile material removal through effective programming and up-to-date tooling specifications.

    Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and operators to meet customer and shop floor needsTroubleshoot production activities with variation and out of control parametersTroubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the machining processInterface with engineering, quality and manufacturing to determine root cause for process and part issuesSupport and advise on new process developmentIdentify opportunities for process improvements resulting in cost reduction, quality improvement, and increased efficiencyPerform day-to-day monitoring of production processes as requiredComplete projects in a timely manner with accuracy using sound scientific methodology, with attention to detail and good judgementEffectively communicate and work with manufacturing, quality, and engineeringProvide input and analysis for procedural changes to include work instructions and manualsOther related duties as assignedKnowledge, skills, and abilitiesAbility to program in Mastercam Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applicationsAbility to read and interpret technical documents and blueprintsAbility to communicate effectively both written and oral at all levelsAbility to define, plan, and complete projects with accuracy and on timeAbility to prepare written reports and make presentationsAbility to apply engineering and scientific principles and methodology toward problem identification and resolutionUnderstanding of GD&T preferred, but not requiredAbility to balloon prints is preferred, but not requiredStrong understanding of Six Sigma methodology is preferred Ability and willingness to work with individuals with diverse expertise and backgroundsKnowledge of investment casting is preferred
