At Shine Like Stars Preschool, we create a warm and loving environment that provides a safe setting for children to explore, play, and develop their young minds. We are a full and half-day preschool for ages 2-5 years old with before/after care.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. If you are a compassionate, warm, enthusiastic, and committed individual that positively influences young minds and those around them, we urge you to apply In this position, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision and care to children while encouraging creativity and promoting educational growth in the classroom. The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment.

Lead Teacher, Preschool Responsibilities:

• Develop and teach curriculum across multiple subject areas that engages all students
• Ensure that all students achieve key learning outcomes and developmental growth
• Build a warm learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous and joyful learning community
• Collaborate closely with the Preschool Director and a team of Teacher Assistants to continually improve student learning, recognize issues students are facing, and recommend solutions
• Inspire trust and confidence among parents and families through relationship building, which includes strong spoken and written communication
• Foster strong relationships with families and parents
• Complying with state, school, and class rules and regulations

Teacher Assistant Requirements:

• Must hold an infant & child CPR certificate
• Must have experience with writing developmentally appropriate lessons for students
• Must have experience with creating classroom activities
• Must have a compassionate and positive attitude as well as the ability to create a warm nurturing and creative classroom environment for children
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal abilities
• Highly effective collaborator, eager to listen deeply, contribute to a team and achieve goals together
• Deep dedication to learning and developing as an educator
• Very resourceful and adaptive, eager to embrace change, growth and learning
• Comfort with using technology as a tool
• Graduate degree in education, teaching or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator teaching children between the ages of 2-5, but not required
• Bachelors OR Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred with 90 hour minimum, but not required
