    Description
    Main Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Procuring direct and indirect commodity materials for all plants in the USA.
    • Understanding the production plants' needs and allocating the respective resources to manage production supply and vendors.
    • Leading the execution of purchasing strategies for local sourcing projects, including mentoring the team in search of new suppliers and technologies, reviewing quotations, aligning with commodity management strategies and meeting KPI requirements.
    • Engaging with suppliers regularly to maintain a good business partnership.
    • Leading and coordinating the follow-up on delivery dates / deadlines established by the cross functional teams.
    • Supervising, educating, and supporting team members in multiple locations in the achievement of short and long-term goals, including their development.
    • Negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, confidentiality agreements, master purchase agreements, changes in processes, engineering requirements, and other items as required with suppliers
    • Training and enforcing standard processes in conjunction with ElringKlinger's systems & processes.
    • Preparing reports and management presentations as necessary.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Degree in Business or Engineering or in a comparable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • At least 5 years of management experience in purchasing in the Automotive Industry.
    • Experience in component purchasing with understanding of manufacturing processes and costs associated with those processes.
    • Proficiency in at least three of the following commodities: steel, aluminum, plastic resins, plastic molded components, stampings, die casting, fasteners, battery components, rubbers.
    • Strong knowledge of purchasing regulations, contract management and negotiation strategies.
    • Experience in working with SAP and MS Office.
    • Spanish language skills are a plus.
