- Develops treatment plans to address the therapeutic needs of individuals; collaborates with JCMHC teams and other community partners.
- Provides therapy and other clinical services for a designated caseload of individuals with complex or ongoing needs primarily utilizing strengths-based, solution-focused models.
- Completes clinical documentation regarding services provided; evaluates and documents individuals' progress according to measurable goals; reviews and approves documentation and plans of care developed by other staff to ensure services are consistent with the level of care required for each individual's needs.
- Collaborates effectively with other members of the team, providing clinical support and interventions for health navigators and care coordinators as needed, which may include seeing clients in the community.

Johnson County Mental Health Center (JCMHC) provides hope and promotes recovery through the Strengths Perspective by treating people with dignity and respect and starting with people's strengths in mind. We are currently seeking a compassionate licensed Clinician for the Health Integration Services Team (HIT). Health Integration Services supports adults and children who are not currently connected to a full array of mental health services, helping bridge gaps and improve access to timely, effective services. This position works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide brief individual therapy to adults and children experiencing behavioral health conditions. The Clinician will also conduct clinical assessments, offer follow up support, and provide timely clinical intervention during crisis situations as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who enjoys meaningful, short-term therapeutic work, values teamwork, and wants to make a direct impact by supporting clients during critical moments of need. First review of applications will be February 6th. Job DescriptionResponsibilities for this clinician position include:
- Conducts comprehensive clinical assessments as a part of the intake and diagnostic process; identifies individual needs and diagnoses substance use and/or mental health disorders; assesses individual risk for suicide and other safety related concerns; determines the need for medication evaluation and referral; communicates relevant information to individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
Johnson County has implemented a skill-based pay plan of up to $4200 annually for staff who have obtained licensure by the BSRB at the Clinical Level.
Job RequirementsMinimum Job Requirements:
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other Human Services field and Kansas Behavioral Sciences licensure* at the master's level in the area of focus are required. May require a KS/MO driver's license, depending on department or agency.
*Applicants who meet Kansas licensure requirements may be considered if Kansas licensure is obtained by time of an employment offer and licensure is pending confirmation at the time of employment application.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Kansas Behavioral Sciences license at the clinical level and one year of experience in the area of focus is preferred.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
