    Salary Range: $42,434.91 to $56,562.69

    Under the guidance of the Director of Shared Services, the Payroll Accountant works as part of the City of Atlanta Accounts Payable team, managing invoices from over 80K vendors on an Oracle platform. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the accounts payable cycle, ensure efficient processes compliant with state and federal regulations, conduct audits to identify errors, and handle various account payables and payroll reconciliations. The role also involves providing exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail, process optimization, and meeting deadlines effectively.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to collaborate across all levels of management and departments.
    • Review and balance payrolls, emphasizing error minimization and bank reconciliation.
    • Generate payroll reports for internal review.
    • Handle audit and tax agency queries.
    • Monitor wage garnishments to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
    • Create efficient SOP's and vendor payment reconciliations.
    • Assist with various reconciliations and audits.
    • Manage the AP and Payroll escheatment process.
    • Administer the 1099 and ORR process.
    • Support projects and tasks as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (relevant experience accepted)
    • 2-4 years of progressive experience with web-based or ERP systems (ADP, Dayforce, UltiPro) - Oracle experience preferred.
    • Experience working with auditors.
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
