    ATANE is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Quality Control Engineer for our Bridge Inspection Group based out of the Edison, NJ office.

    The successful candidate for this position will be primarily responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading highway and railroad bridge inspection projects on conventional and complex structures in NJ and the adjacent states.

    Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs, including the oversight of inspection team members, client outreach and coordination, proposal development, the completion of bridge load ratings, and assisting in the delivery of bridge design assignments on an as-needed basis.

    Responsibilities
    Full management of all projects' aspects including scheduling, staffing, and cost.
    Oversee the field inspection of conventional and complex bridge structures.
    Provide technical guidance to bridge inspection staff and identify critical findings to the respective client and the applicable recommendation.

    Development of quality control programs and implementation which include performing quality control review of bridge inspection reports in accordance with the respective client's guidelines and expectations.

    Prepare proposals including the development of scopes and cost estimates.
    Review existing load ratingand CADD drawings to determine any need for update.
    Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
    General Work Conditions

    Combination Office and Field Environment:

    Most work is performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.

    Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.

    Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field.

    Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, within a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment, and doing extensive walking.

    Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
    Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from ABET accredited program or higher.
    Licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey is preferred with additional licensure in Pennsylvania and/or New York is desirable.
    15 years minimum NBIS bridge inspection and report development experience with NJTA, NJDOT, NJ TRANSIT, DRPA, PANYNJ, and/or PennDOT.

    Successful completion of the FHWA National Highway Institute's 2-week training course "Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges" and 5-year refresher as needed is a must.

    Successful completion of the FHWA National Highway Institute's training course "Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges" is a must.

    Successful completion of the FHWA National Highway Institute's training course "Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures" is a plus.

    Successful completion of the FHWA National Highway Institute's training course "Fundamentals of LRFR and Applications of LRFR for Bridge Superstructures" is a plus.

    OSHA 10 HR Certification.
    Certification and experience with confined space inspections preferred.
    Experience with FHWA Element Level inventories and inspections.

    Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), NJTA's bridge management system (AssetWise) and NJDOT's bridge management system (ComBIS).

    Excellent experience with NJTA and NJDOT bridge inspection programs and the associated guidelines.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle report (MVR).

    served as full-time Project Manager/Quality Control Engineer are critical factors when determining the salary rate.
