Summary

This position is located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division.

Open to the first 101 applicants or until 04/05/2024 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.

Duties

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Operation of vessels and vehicles in both the front and back country to educate visitors on rules, regulations and safety practices.
• Responds to emergency calls by vehicle, boat, and foot utilizing a knowledge of local roads, park lands, and adjoining response areas.
• Serve as a member of all risk operations, ex: search and rescue, EMS, etc.
• Plans, conducts and assists with "all hazards" trainings such as EMS, search and rescue, incident management and boating.

Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

This position at Lake Mead will operate government-owned motorboats. In order to operate these power boats, you must be able to complete the DOI Motorboat Operator's Certification Course (MOCC) within one year of entry on duty. This course will be offered at LAKE, and you must be prepared to participate in the training and successfully complete the course.
