We are seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to spearhead the development and operation of our SaaS platform, guiding the engineering team, defining product architecture, and managing DevOps processes.

You will understand the importance of aligning software and system architecture to corporate strategy, product strategy, and revenue targets.You will be a part of our senior leadership team, translating our company's vision and strategy into a technology roadmap and leading the team that executes it.

Responsibilities:
Establish technology priorities based on customer needs, competitive context, and internal delivery capabilities, directing the engineering team's focus towards impactful objectives.
Streamline development workflows and enhance automation to optimize software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps efficiencies, ensuring faster and more reliable delivery.
Coordinate the SOC2 compliance initiative, ensuring all engineering practices meet the required security and privacy standards to uphold trust and compliance.
Support due diligence and manage the technical integration of new acquisitions, aligning technology stacks and strategies to maximize synergies and strategic goals.
Regularly assess and adjust team structures and processes to maintain an efficient, productive engineering organization that maximizes output and fosters a positive work culture.
Contribute insights on technology trends and competitive landscapes to the company's strategic planning, ensuring engineering goals align with broader business objectives.
Enhance the engineering team and culture to align with gWorks' values and strategic directions, developing operational leadership that fosters innovation and excellence.
Utilize third-party development resources effectively to increase engineering capacity and velocity while managing costs, overseeing an effective offshoring strategy.Maintain proactive partnerships with cloud vendors to ensure a scalable, secure infrastructure that supports the company's growth and technological needs.
Work closely with Product Management to ensure engineering efforts are tightly aligned with product roadmaps and customer requirements, facilitating seamless release and roadmap planning.
Skills and Experience:
10+ years of software engineering management experience.
10+ years of hands-on full-stack software development experience.
5+ years managing cloud-based software solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP
Possess a broad range of experience in areas such as software development, architecture, SaaS operations, cloud management, data analytics, AI/ML, systems integration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Deep understanding of security principles ranging from secure development practices to threat detection and response
Experience leading remote teams
Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt in a rapidly growing environment.
Proficiency in project management using Agile methodologies.
Success Metrics:
Execution of the technology roadmap on time and within budget.
Improvement in product quality and customer satisfaction.
Efficient management of the engineering team and resources.
Achievement of strategic objectives aligned with business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in SaaS development and operations.
3+ years of experience working at the executive level.
Work Location and Arrangement:
We are actively seeking a candidate who is
local to the area or open to relocating for the position .
Collaboration remains at the forefront of our goals, and the preference for this position is to operate out of the Omaha office.
