    Summary About the Position:

    Serve as a Web Operations Program Analyst (Military Information Support Operations) for the US European Command (EUCOM), Joint MISO WebOps Center (JMWC), representing the command for all matters pertaining to MISO and WebOps.

    Provide advice and support to the Chief of the Psychological Operations Branch (J39) on MISO deliberate and crisis action planning in order to support command missions.

    Responsibilities Formulate and integrates policy and planning for European Command (EUCOM) Web Operations (WebOps) support of USEUCOM. Implement EUCOM WebOps policies and procedures for all MISO planning for current and contingency operations.

    Leverage state-of-the-art social media techniques to improve the command's ability to reach audiences in the region with appropriate messages supporting USEUCOM objectives during crisis or provocation.

    • Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 years.
    Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

    Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

    Specialized Experience:

    One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Formulating policy/guidance for Web Operations AND (2) Planning and/or coordinating Web Operations by monitoring and analyzing online information in areas such as politics, culture, and/or ethnicity.

    This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

    Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

    Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

    You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
