- Design and develop mechanical components and systems, including Bill of Materials, 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings, using CAD software.
- Work with manufacturing, assembly, and quality teams to ensure that designs meet quality standards and are producible at scale.
- Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness of products and designs. , and cost improvements to improve the position of the company.
- Interfaces and collaborates with other teams in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input and feedback on the design process and progress.
- Plans and develops test programs for prototypes using computer-assisted engineering and design software.
- Analyzes test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
- Analyzes, evaluates, sources, and assists in coordinating the procurement of new materials to support model changes.
- Maintain accurate records of design specifications, test results, and other relevant data.
- Performs technical analysis of competitive products.
- Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations and customer support.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
- Preferred Minimum of (5) years of product design experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and other design tools
- Knowledge of basic metrology hand tools is desired.
- Experienced with Machine Shop and Mechanical Assembly experience highly desired.
- Familiarity with basic machine tools: lathes, grinders, mills, presses, EDM's.
- Familiarity with basic machine components: levers, linkages, bearings, shafts, springs, screw threads, and complex mechanisms.
- Familiarity with material and mechanical properties of common metals, alloys, and industrial polymers.
