    Job Summary

    The Summer Camp Aide (SCA) is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and effective communication to maintain the overall well-being and safety of summer camp participants. This role requires high energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine enjoyment of working with children, as well as strong teamwork skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Supervises a group of children alongside the Summer Camp Lead, ensuring their health and well-being through careful and attentive supervision at all times.
    2. Takes daily attendance and maintains a clean and organized campsite and equipment.
    3. Implements engaging program activities that align with YMCA values and adhere to program standards regarding safety, cleanliness, and licensing protocol.
    4. Maintains ongoing communication with parents, children, and other staff, modeling positive relationship-building skills in all interactions.

    Qualifications

    1. Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
    2. Six months of experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting, is preferred.
    3. Must complete 24 hours of training to meet licensing standards.
    4. Preferred CPR/First-Aid certification; will receive training if not certified.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Must possess exceptional group management, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Experience in creating, planning, and facilitating interactive and educational/artistic activities relating to youth development, physical fitness, and academic enrichment is also preferred.
