Our esteemed client, a prestigious law firm in Westchester County, is on the lookout for a dynamic individual to join their team as a Tax Accountant. As a key member, you will collaborate with the Tax Manager and Project Supervisor, contributing to international individual tax and payroll matters for partners and employees.

• Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare work papers related to expatriate tax matters, international payroll tax filings, and special projects.
• Assist in foreign tax return compliance and various projects.
• Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Handle ad hoc inquiries from international employees and management promptly.
• Assist in U.S. income tax payments and withholdings for Partners in overseas offices.
• Research and analyze U.S. and international payroll tax laws.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with attorneys, accountants, and departments within the Firm.
• Prepare quarterly Partner memorandums regarding expatriate emoluments.
• Stay updated on relevant tax law developments and changes.
• Develop a working knowledge of the Firm's payroll for data analysis and reconciliation.
• Review monthly add-to-earnings reports and maintain the Firm's tax preparation authorization list.
• Collaborate with the team to analyze and verify Partner taxes paid/withheld.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in relevant firm computer software programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills for complex functions (v/lookups, pivot tables, formula nesting).
• Ability to learn international payroll issues related to expatriates.
• Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
• Working knowledge of U.S. and International payroll tax rules.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
• Flexibility to adapt to a demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Discretion and independent judgment are essential.

Experience/Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
