    Department of Population Health Sciences;

    The Department of Population Health Sciences brings together full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty, as well as additional faculty with secondary appointments, committed to conducting research on the individual, social, structural, and community factors that create health disparities in the population and to design and implement interventions to promote health and increase health equity. Faculty research interests include all aspects of population health including adolescent health, cancer detection and outcomes, cardiovascular health, community-based participatory research, global health, health communication and messaging, health disparities, health of LGBTQ+ populations, health services research, HIV care and prevention, infection prevention and control, Latinx health, men's health, mental health, obesity, sexual health, substance use and cessation, including alcohol and tobacco use, suicidality, and violence against women among many others. Faculty expertise areas include anthropology, behavioral science, biostatistics, epidemiology, health education, health communication, implementation science, public health law, and qualitative, survey, and mixed methodologies.

    The Opportunity:

    The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine (COM) Department of Population Health Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a Research Coordinator position. The position will provide specialized technical and/or scientific support directly to research projects. The Research Coordinator will ensure the successful execution of research-related activities, compliance monitoring, and writing/reviewing research protocols for currently funded and future grants.

    Responsibilities:

    • Recruitment, Screening, and Enrollment of study participants; Conduct informed consent procedures; Collect data in person [clinic-based setting] and online; Send survey completion reminders; Schedule interviews; Complete interviews; Ship self-collection kits to participants; Manage participant incentives (cash payments and gift cards as applicable).
    • Perform technical, operational, and administrative tasks in support of the PI's research in the field of sexual health; Assist the PI in the development of future grant submissions.
    • Prepare initial and ongoing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, study protocols, documentation, and progress reports for research projects led by the Primary Investigator (PI).
    • Design and maintain REDCap database; Securely upload and transmit interviews to the transcribing service; Review transcripts for accuracy.
    • Collaborate on the preparation of presentations (community and academic conferences), and research publications.
    • Maintain excellent working relationships with the STRiP-T Community Advisory Board, and other community partners; Participate in community outreach activities.
    • Perform other related duties assigned or deemed appropriate by PI, including but not limited to the timely completion of required University and college training and updates.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat Click here for more information

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prefer candidate with the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish in order to work effectively with customers and team members.
    • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, public health, epidemiology, health promotion, psychology, public administration, or a closely related field.
    • Prior experience analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data using either R, SPSS, SAS, MAXQDA, or
    • Prior experience working with marginalized populations.
    • Demonstrated time management, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, ability to apply care, thoroughness, and high quality to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
