Electrical Preconstruction Manager
Purpose
As a Electrical Preconstruction Manger - at KE you will play a key role within our Pre-Construction team. This person is the bridge between Estimation and Operations.
The Preconstruction Manger will be responsible for bringing an estimate from conceptual design to a finished project that is construction ready.
The Preconstruction Manger will work with our Estimators, Pre-Construction Team, Drafters, and Project Managers throughout the design phase until it is ready to hand off to our Operations team.
KE performs Design Build projects, nationwide, in a variety of industries including but not limited to Biodiesel & Ethanol production facilities, Grain storage, Fertilizer Terminals, Feed & Flour Mills, Dairy Processing plants, and Cement/Aggregate plants, etc.
ResponsibilitiesVerify vendor quotes and provide submittal packages
Participate in customer/client design review meetings and presentations
Assist in leading/managing engineering needs to ensure final product matches the "KE-Way" design
Complete conceptual engineering and or design for the following
Sizing conduit/cable to serve electrical equipment such as MCC's, Switchboards, Panelboards, and Transformers
Comprehend MCC BOM's and quotes to ensure that sizing, layouts, and controller types are accurate
Comprehend Switchgear BOM's and quotes to ensure that sizing, layouts, and over current protection types are correct
Build conduit cable schedules to serve
Motors
Controls and instrumentation devices
Branch Circuiting
Knowledge of motor control devices such as VFD's, Soft Starts, Networked MCC's, and traditional across the line starters
Medium Voltage Distribution systems such as
Vacuum Fault Interrupters
Metal Clad MV Switchgear
MV transformers
Various MV Cable Types and terminations
Experience with Special systems such as
Network cabling
Instrumentation
Fire Alarm
Door access/Security systems
Grounding Systems
Act as a bridge from estimating to operations or Concept to reality
Additional duties as needed
Qualifications

Experience with BlueBeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Smartsheets, and Procore
A knowledge of electrical and or automation construction practices or industrial electrical work.
Knowledge of the NEC
Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, staff, and customers
Effectively communicate using various methods including but not limited to Microsoft Teams, email, text, or phone calls
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system
Journeyman Electricians License, a degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related, or equivalent combination of field experience/education
Excellent time management, and project tasking
Capable of being flexible to meet project deadlines
Must be self-motivated, and flexible to accommodate changes in KE business strategies
Ability to problem solve and take accountability for decisions on projects.
Possess and maintain a valid driving license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
Ability to have team first mentality
Ability to teach and mentor other members of the group
Open to occasional travel
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
