Expected annual base salary range:
$51,500 to $72,000
JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Data Scientist works with the data science team to facilitate and manage clinical data collection for algorithm development, for clinical studies related to FDA submission, and for research and scientific communications purposes.
The Associate Data Scientist will work closely with Clinical Data Scientists and assist in data collection, data management, data analysis and reporting.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a quantitative discipline from a recognized University or College.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Working experience in development with progressing experience with data analytics, market research, and/or data mining in developing feasibility and clinical trial development strategies are preferred.
Some experience analyzing large data sets, applying a variety of statistical techniques such as regression, discriminant analysis, cluster analysis, and Bayesian Theory are desired.
Ability to understand and manipulate data for data mining, look at things various ways, create, debug, troubleshoot, design, and implement solutions to business challenges.
Strong analytical abilities of presenting of complex scientific data as it relates to clinical research and market analyses.Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, , GGplot, etc.
Experience with machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
Experience with common data science toolkits, such as Python, R, SQL. Excellence in at least one of these is desirable.
Good, applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
Good scripting and programming skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance of data manipulation, data cleaning, analytics on the clinical data asset, and some interaction with the business.
Communicating complex findings to cross functional teams in an understandable way.
Responsible for helping the organization discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data (open source, licensed and proprietary) and make smarter decisions to deliver excellent services and products.
Apply data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with existing and future services/products.Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques.
Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner.
Supports team members developing, analyzing, interpreting and presenting of operational data in support of strategy and planning.
Conducts data mining of open sourced, licensed and proprietary data sources and initiates/oversees collection of data for use in development of robust strategies for clinical trials.
Provide day to day support of the business as required in order to efficiently and effectively model and forecast from feasibility data and other relevant information to allow for the development of evidence-based strategies for inclusion into client deliverables.
Prepare clinical trial operational predictions/forecasts with appropriate guidance from internal clinical operational experts.Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
