Job Description

Horizon Family Medicine is a primary care clinic in Clayton searching for a qualified and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a primary care setting is preferred. Familiarity with computers is imperative. The ideal candidate will be diligent, flexible and able to work well in a team environment.

The medical assistant will support multiple physicians as needed and collaborate with the nursing team to support practice-wide health initiatives. Daily responsibilities fall into 3 key areas: rooming patients, performing in-office tests, and managing patient communications. These functions include:

Obtaining vitals
Obtaining reason for visit/chief complaint
Reviewing and updating allergies and medications
Obtaining/updating pharmacy
Performing EKGs, PFTs, and Holter Monitor placement
Administering injections as appropriate
Attending to refill requests, patient forms, and other patient-related documentation
Communicating with patients by phone and/or via the patient portal
Coordinating referrals based on office procedures.
