Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
Bid Preparation: Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Quantity Takeoffs: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for asphalt, paving, and concrete projects.
Cost Analysis: Analyze costs for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project expenses.
Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and review bids from vendors and subcontractors, ensuring the best value and compliance with project requirements.
Proposal Development: Prepare and submit detailed, accurate, and competitive proposals and bids to clients.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of estimates, bids, and project costs.
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and provide technical support.
Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry best practices to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in asphalt, paving, and concrete projects.
Skills:
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AACE, ASPE) are a plus.
