    We are currently seeking a full time 7th (biology and earth science) and 8th (chemistry) science teacher for the academic year. These courses introduce students to the basics of each subject as well as hands-on labs that teach the fundamentals of the scientific method. The teacher will also oversee entry to the Connecticut State Science Fair and manage our 7th grade science projects.

    Experience and Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in secondary education, sciences or a related field; advanced degree(s) preferable, not required
    Teaching certification required
    Experience working with middle school
    Well-developed, effective classroom management skills
    Knowledge of Biology and Chemistry curricula and assessments
    Patience, flexibility, and a sense of humor
    A solid understanding of child development, varied learning styles, and effective strategies for dealing with such differences
    Strong organization skills
    Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
    Works well in a collaborative model with other administrators, teachers, and parents
    Experience with integrating technology into the classroom
    Ability to engage and inspire students, parents, and families

    Compensation:
    Salary is commensurate with experience.
