Scope & Purpose of the Position

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures equipment functions properly by following preventive maintenance schedule, troubleshooting accurately, and improving equipment in production, packaging, and warehousing areas while upholding safety, quality, cost, and GMP standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Support continuous improvement, modification of job plans or work orders, inspection audits, and assisting on-site vendors for repairs
Propose, monitor, and document machinery and equipment adjustments, provide leadership for efficient start-ups, daily operations, change-overs, and shut-downs
Participate in installing and training maintenance technicians on new machinery
Provide training and development to maintenance team reports
Distribute daily work orders to technicians, monitor progress, and audit completed work orders
Collaborate with operators and supervisors to resolve mechanical issues during production
Repair equipment, fixtures, conveyors, and systems at the facility when necessary
Enforce department rules and procedures
Work independently and with team members to ensure timely and safe repairs
Collaborate with other departments on continuous improvement initiatives
Follow safety rules, wear required Personal Protective Equipment, and maintain quality and safety standards
Adhere to safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices
Perform any other duties assigned by the maintenance manager

Requirements:

Job Qualification Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent in Electrical and Mechanical technology or industrial maintenance
Flexible schedule availability
Experience with industrial electricity, automation control, and mechanical repairs
Minimum of 2 years experience in industrial/mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing setting
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role within manufacturing
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point), with knowledge in AutoCAD as a plus
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
Strong problem-solving skills and result-oriented approach
Leadership qualities, ability to lead by example and communicate effectively on electrical/mechanical processes
Ability to work in varied conditions including extreme temperatures and around machinery and chemicals

Physical Requirements

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb
Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Physical dexterity for handling supplies, machine parts, and tools
Vision abilities including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment

Backup:

The Maintenance Manager or senior technician serves as the backup for this role.
