- Employee serves as a crewmember protecting life and property.
- Responds to fire alarms, natural gas leaks, wildland fires and fights fire requiring performance of firefighting tasks of moderate difficulty involving structures, equipment, facilities; crashed, burning aircraft; fuel, chemical, brush fires.
- Employee performs maintenance, operational, housekeeping, emergency, and standby duties.
- Operates radios, fire reporting systems, and computer modem for hazardous material information and performs maintenance tasks on firefighting apparatus, equipment, and facilities.
- The employee is a first responder to medical emergencies and performs emergency medical procedures that are noninvasive.
