    Description

    Overview:
    The DevOps Engineer leads the design and implementation of enterprise applications.

    The DevOps Engineer is responsible for architecting and building platforms and frameworks to create consistent, verifiable, and automatic management and deployment of infrastructure between all Yusen Environments including development, QA, UAT, and Production throughout the development lifecycle.

    Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes. Automate infrastructure capabilities for deployment, backups, security, and monitoring. Perform job duties with a DevOps approach to ensure quality on all phases of the process.

    Linux, WindowsAzure, AWS, VMWare, VMWare TanzuKubernetes on premise and cloud, AKE, GKE, and EKSAzure DevOps, CI/CDTaraform, Trafik, Containers, Ansible, HelmYAMLVersion control tools like GITProgram knowledge with Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShellResponsibilities:Administration of DevOps and the processes to optimize service delivery (CI/CD)Daily administration of Azure Services, VMWare, Kubernetes, containers, and storageDaily administration of backups and disaster recovery (Onprem, Cloud, Kubernetes resources)Automate with powershell, python, bash scripts, DevOps pipelinesAdminister all equipment, hardware and software upgradesAdminister and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rightsAssists with technology planning through ongoing research, forecasting, and proactive initiativesAbility to troubleshoot and resolve common technical issues involving multiple systems and networksDemonstrates understanding of SMTP, TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, HTTP, FTP, and other technologies as requiredInstalls server hardware and softwareTunes, monitors and patches systems either physical or virtual, cloud or non-cloud based.

    Conducts software rollouts that target a large group of the user communityProvides technical support to server clients. Resolves problems and manages incidents at the server level.

    Escalates any unresolved problems to vendors and/or managementMonitors and tests systems and configurations to ensure optimal performance per established objectives.

    Helps to establish and maintain standards and best practicesGuiding the development teamDocuments installation procedures for systemsCreates and maintains detailed documentation of all system configurations and their functionsSupports all hardware/software applications used at Yusen LogisticsWill assist the team in taking assignment of Tier 2-3 ServiceNow incidents, project tasks, changes, and the resolution of those ticketsWill be assigned to after hours on call rotation that includes all members of the server teamPerforms other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and 5+ years experience. A four-year bachelors degree is highly desirable but not required, as appropriate experience will be considered.

    5 years experience in a large multi server, multi site, 24x7 environment using these skills:

    installation of server hardware, server software upgrades/ patches, functional systems design, networking protocols, technical project management, data analysis, Microsoft Windows server administration, Unix server administration, clustered systems administration, VMWare/ Hypervisor virtual server administration, Kubernetes, DevOps, Azure, AWS.5+ years experience in a large multi-server, multi-site, 24x7 environment using these skills: installation of server infrastructure, server software upgrades/ patches, functional systems design, networking protocols, technical project management, data analysis, Microsoft Windows server administration, Unix server administration, clustered systems administration, VMWare/ Hypervisor virtual server administration, Azure, AWS5+ years experience with cloud services and cloud engineering like Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform / GKEKubernetes and containersFamiliarity with SQL databasesDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems and to communicate with and support clients.

    Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
    Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people effectively.
    Ability to travel.
