    JOB TITLE: Executive Director
    REPORTS TO: CEO, Sanga Consulting, Inc.
    EMPLOYED BY: Sanga Consulting, Inc.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Minimum of Masters degree in education, business, or related field
    • Experience in school operations or charter schools is strongly preferred
    • Demonstrated evidence of participation in the school-improvement process
    • Ability to provide strong leadership with demonstrated ability for strategic thinking
    • Submit to a criminal background check and be found without a record

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    The Executive Director provides leadership with regard to strategic school operations that are consistent with the Academys mission and vision of Escuela Avancemos This position requires an organized professional to manage the business side of the Academy, possessing skills that ensure thoroughness and accuracy as well as the capacity to build systematic processes for a changing organization.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Operations, Processes, and Procedures
      • Develops, implements, and monitors work practices, systems, and procedures that are effective and consistent with the Academys policies
      • Develops a high-quality strategic plan with long-term and short-term goals, in alignment with the mission and vision of the Academy
      • Maintains a deep knowledge of the local and state educational landscape
      • Acts as a liaison between the Academy and other schools, authorizer, outside agencies, parents, and the public at large
    • Accounting/Procurement
      • Creates and implements policies for managing all money/fees
      • Works closely with financial consultant to develop and oversee school budget and accounting processes
      • Works with administration to identify purchasing needs early to ensure timely provision of goods and services
    • Vendor Management
      • Manages relationships with all vendors
      • Initiates and manages contracts; monitors performance and works with administration to manage issues raised by vendors
      • Manages competitive bidding processes where applicable
    • Compliance and Reporting
      • Completes and maintains authorizer, MDE, ISD, and school-level reports
      • Develops and manages a Master Calendar to ensure activities are completed in a timely manner and ensures that Academy staff are trained appropriately
      • Manages the Academys lunch program or vendor-managed program
      • Ensures that the Academy Board policies are implemented
    • Payroll and Human Resources
      • Works with administration to anticipate staffing and hiring needs and initiate strategic recruitment activities.
      • Draft employee contracts and contract amendments for additional work assignments
      • Ensures that human resources files are audit ready
      • Manages Payroll system and processes semi-monthly payroll
      • Ensures all applicable employee time is tracked and recorded in timekeeping system
      • Provides general employment communication to staff
    • Facilities
      • Maintains close relationship with building landlord and vendors to ensure the physical facility and infrastructure supports the needs of the Academys program
      • Provides feedback on the performance of facility vendors
      • Oversees space planning and assignments to ensure available pace for current year activities as well as activities for the next school year
    • Board Relations
      • Ensures effective and accurate communication between the Board of Directors and other stakeholders
      • Works with Sanga Consulting, Inc. and the Principal on Academy Board meeting preparations
    • Safety and Security
      • Provides support to the Director of Operations and ensures the School Safety and Security Plan is implemented and that drills are conducted to ensure that all in the Academy are prepared for emergency situations
    • Meets with families, students, and instructional staff as requested
    • Meets regularly with leadership to discuss the status of operations in the Academy and proposed solutions for operational challenges at hand.
