    This position is in Salary Grade CS1, with a minimum salary of $16.71 per hour. The successful candidate's salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the salary grade range. This position is eligible for full-time fringe benefits package.

    General Description

    The purpose of this position is to oversee daily activities of the residence life front desk; supervise and schedule the student desk assistants.

    manage residence life office supplies, and files while providing service and information to perspective students and their families, current students, staff, faculty and the public while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

    This is accomplished by collecting and reporting information about students; overseeing the reception area for the residence halls and the residence life office; supervising the distribution of mail; maintaining and supporting policies and procedures; assisting students in referrals to on/off campus services; observing student behavior and reporting to director; coordinating front desk operation and coverage; training supervising and delegating duties to student workers in the front desk area; maintaining confidentiality; and providing clerical support.

    Other duties include maintaining reports or inventories of keys, housing damages, repairs, and maintenance needs; coordinating and assisting in residence hall check-in and check-out procedures; delegating tasks to student desk assistants and follow-up for completion; overseeing usage and maintenance of residence life security systems and reporting problems; maintaining a key inventory; ordering keys; working with physical plant to track lock changes.

    Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to problem solve, multi-task and prioritize multiple priorities required. Ability to direct, schedule, and manage student desk assistants. Proficiency in customer service, proof-reading for accuracy, and computer experience in the use of Microsoft Office.
