    Position Overview:
    Belcan Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our team remotely. This full-time, direct position comes with comprehensive benefits and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to space exploration.

    Your expertise in procurement will support our mission to enable millions to live and work in space, thereby benefiting Earth.


    Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic procurement solutions for various spaceflight systems, impacting all facets of supply chain operations.
    • Prepare and manage Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quote (RFQ), including performing cost analyses to support proposal evaluations.
    • Lead formal negotiations, develop negotiation strategies, and construct diverse contracting types tailored to meet program needs and business goals.
    • Engage in long-range procurement planning, establish sourcing partnerships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product delivery.

    Core Qualifications:

    • Bachelor"s degree with a minimum of five years" related experience, or Master"s degree with three years" related experience.
    • Experience as a buyer and/or planner in a manufacturing setting, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
    • Proficient in interpreting and applying relevant policies and regulations, such as FAR, DFAR, and SOX Compliance.
    • Demonstrated analytical abilities with a data-driven approach, including setting and tracking key program metrics.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, with US citizenship required due to the sensitive nature of the work.

    Desired Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in purchasing systems and technical knowledge of procurement and sourcing.
    • Specific experience in services and software and IT procurement.
    • Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively within a team, and fluency in a second language is advantageous.
    • Experience with contract management, planning, and negotiations.
    • Familiarity with AS9100 quality management standards.
    • Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
    • Active DOD Secret Security Clearance or Special Access is a plus.
