    Regional Sales Manager - Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel

    Since 1901, the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel has been taking passengers on a fabled journey to the heart of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

    its a trip back in time on lovingly restored rail cars with entertaining musicians and cowboys. Out your window, the terrain changes from high desert to prairie, and prairie to pine. Its a view thats ever-changing until you come across a view so brilliant, it could take your breath away.

    As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be building and maintaining relationships with the travel agency distribution channel within your assigned territory.

    Including agencies that are part of AAA, Signature Travel Network, Ensemble, Virtuoso, Travel Leaders, Expedia Cruises, American Express, Independents, etc.


    Our ideal candidate will be based out of Southern California and work remotely.

    Responsibilities

    • Meet or exceed Sales Plan goals in room nights, revenues, and average rate within the trade.
    • Prepare and submit territory Sales Plan, including strategy on how to achieve annual budget
    • Ability to identify and develop new sales partners and retain and build on existing business
    • Collaborate with Corporate Director of Sales to develop sales activations within territory
    • Develop revenue-generating strategies with assigned trade partners.
    • Whether large or small, engage with all travel agents within territory.
    • Become a product expert and be able to transfer that knowledge to the trade to ensure advisors are selling our product with confidence.
    • Responsible for ensuring maximum revenue is generated in room, train and package products consistent with Xanterra Travel Collection interests, objectives and standards of quality and profitability.
    • Successfully cross-sell all products within the Xanterra Travel Collection
    • Provide training (in-person and webinar) for travel advisors
    • Regularly evaluate, schedule and attend trade shows based on ability to track and measure new sales
    • Conduct familiarization tours as appropriate.
    • Participate in the bi-weekly Sales calls
    • Perform any assignments or tasks as directed by General Manager or Corporate Director of Sales, Xanterra Travel Collection.

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA degree in business, marketing or hospitality management.
    • Must live in greater Los Angeles, CA area
    • Minimum 8 years experience in hospitality sales with proven track record of growth
    • Self-starter, high performer, with vision and the ability to deliver planned revenue
    • Strong analytical skills required to identify new and repeat opportunities
    • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
    • Willing and able to travel to visit accounts within territory
    • Willing and able to travel to domestic travel advisor trade shows
    • Ability to act with little supervision in guiding the general policies that shape the department
