    Position Summary

    Be part of the clean-energy transformation. Grow your experience and potential as a senior data analyst supporting Xcel Energy's renewable choice programs for our customers. Develop and deliver data solutions that support product performance, accuracy and regulatory reporting. Perform analytics to drive business decisions and product designs. Reporting to include tracking and analysis of key customers, vendor and market trends, product metrics, and key performance indicators. Recognize and deliver data and process improvements for the company. Create dashboards and explore automation/AI solutions to improve processes and drive efficiency. May include intern oversight.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Data Wrangling/Exploration:
    Follow consistent practices to ensure data integrity and deal with imperfections in data. Effectively process structured data; proficiently integrate data sets from various sources; confidently draw conclusions from data.

    Collaborate with business stakeholders as needed to ensure solid data understanding and proper data transformation; work cross-functionally with development and engineering teams.

    Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns; draw conclusions and gain actionable insights from data.

    Programming:

    Develop efficient and high quality code; follow solid validation process to ensure consistency and minimize errors; adhere to version control standards.

    Maintain skills through continuing education; seamlessly transition between languages to apply the right approach to the right problem.
    Work Management - Manages multiple tasks, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities. Communicates status and estimates clearly and timely to management and team members.

    Data Visualization:
    Create meaningful data visualizations to communicate results and highlight business impact. Utilize various visualization techniques and delivery methods of visualization that are audience appropriate (e.g. interactive, statistical, and exploratory).

    Communication:
    Effectively communicate technical information to numerous audiences (e.g. senior management, client community, peers and junior associates); effectively develop relationships with individuals inside and outside of IT. Address challenges to analytic processes and influence others to change their approach and work collectively to implement new tools/techniques. Gain support from related stakeholders for analytic solutions.
    Continuing Education - takes a proactive approach to understanding industry and organization-specific business issues. Participates in structured and self-study training courses. Continually improves technical skills and learns new data sources.

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, Statistics, Analytics or related IT degree or sufficient experience
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytics environment
    Expertise in SQL Comfortable working with large, complex data sets - drawing conclusions and proposing recommendations
    Proven ability to effectively partner, collaborate, and communicate with technical and non-technical colleagues in various business functions at all levels
    Hands-on experience constructing visual analytics
    Working knowledge of an analytics data warehouse and big data platform
    Familiarity with fundamentals of statistics, probability and data pipelines
    Strong attention to detail
    Demonstrated ability to wrangle data
    Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data

    The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $81,000.00 to $115,866.66 per year
