- Designs and conducts experiments in existing models of lung disease.
- Develops new disease models, protocols, and approaches for expanding the lines of research.
- Stays current with the literature in the field.
- Interprets data in the context of the literature and prepares manuscripts.
- Trains new members in specific research techniques.
- PhD in the biomedical field and a minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral experience in the areas of lipid metabolism, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, or molecular basis of lipid-related diseases. A master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant lab experience will be considered too.
- Ability to work with autonomy and to develop new protocols.
- Experience with in vivo and in vitro models of disease and therapeutic options.
- Proficiency with biochemistry and cell biology techniques, and in Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism.
- Willingness to learn new techniques, including computational ones.
- Experience using electronic lab books.
- Practical knowledge of immunohistochemistry and confocal and electron microscopy.
- Experience in analyzing -omics data.
- Knowledge of R programming.
