DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
The St.
Charles Health System's Information Technology (IT) Team provides design, development, security, and support to a broad spectrum of computer hardware and software components, all working together for the benefit of departments throughout St.
Charles.We partner with our customers to best leverage various technologies to achieve the best patient outcomes possible by implementing new hardware and software solutions, upgrading existing environments, protecting the data we store, and integrating solutions to achieve a seamless experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Business Clinical Applications leads transformative initiatives across our organization's clinical technology landscape.
Reporting to the Senior Director and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer, this role oversees the Epic build and 3rd party clinical build in areas included but not limited to Ambulatory, Inpatient, and Revenue Cycle technology.
This role's strategic leadership and expertise will drive system strategies to advance the utilization of clinical information systems consistent with our goals and objectives.
This position directly manages caregivers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Strategic Leadership:
Provide expert consultation and leadership in the delivery of clinical system strategy and optimization, developing and communicating system strategies to advance the utilization of clinical information systems
Clinical Informatics Strategy:
Collaborate with organizational leaders to develop and implement clinical informatics strategies.
Provide oversight and direction for the implementation of comprehensive Clinical Informatics programs.
Clinical System Optimization:
Strategize and create evidence-based enterprise informatic policies and procedures.
Champion complex clinical projects and systems to support efficiency and effectiveness for end users.
EHR Change Management:
Develop and communicate strategic plans for EHR Change Management aligned with organizational goals.
Lead governance of clinical systems at the system level, including the Epic steering team.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead a team of system and regional leaders and managers to achieve strategic endeavors, redefining the design and deployment of Clinical Informatics to enhance customer satisfaction and improve patient outcomes.
Recruit, hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Budget Management:
Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage the technology budget, optimizing resource allocation while ensuring financial sustainability
Compliance:
Monitor and ensure all direct reports are current with compliance and safety requirements. Implement and manage all organizational safety directives and goals.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate with teams to review processes and identify/implement opportunities for improvements, applying Lean principles, concepts, and tools.

Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technology Business Administration, or related field
Preferred:
Master's degree

AEXPERIENCE:
Required:
Minimum of seven (7) years related experience overseeing multiple EMR applications. Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience
Preferred:
Seven (7) or more years of clinical or healthcare IT experience working with EMR applications
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely
