    Position Summary:


    The incumbent provides high quality customer service to patients needing to be contacted in order to effectively schedule specialty referral appointments or to make appointment modifications as a result of operational changes.

    Provides outbound call center services across all clinical areas within the Medical Center, applying expert understanding of each clinic's unique scheduling requirements.

    Takes inbound calls from patients calling to obtain medical services as necessary.

    Serves as a preceptor for new staff, can act as back up to Lead Scheduler (PAR) if needed, and can also assist on trainings of imaging scheduling as needed as a part of preceptor for new staff and/or current staff.

    Salary Range:
    Hourly Rate Minimum $26.38 Midpoint $29.62 Maximum $32.85


    Required Qualifications:
    Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval

    Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner

    Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

    Minimum 1 year experience working in a customer service position with high utilization and reliance upon an electronic medical scheduling system (Quest, Epic, etc.)

    Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics

    Experience with MS Excel

    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction

    MRI scheduling experience and working with MRI technologists/ leadership


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology

    Minimum 6 months experience working at UCI Medical Center's Call Center

    Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese

    Prior EPIC experience

    Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
